The Federal University of Espírito Santo is a federal university established at the city of Vitória, capital of Espírito Santo state, in Brazil. It is considered the 32nd best university in Brazil and the best university of its state as well.
The Ufes was founded on 5 May 1954. It has four campuses - in Goiabeiras and Maruípe in the capital; and the municipalities of Alegre, in the southern state; and Matthew, north of Espírito Santo - with a total of 292 thousand square meters of buildings.
The Ufes offers 90 undergraduate programs, with a total of 4,975 students per year. In graduate school offers 47 master’s and 16 doctoral degrees. Has a staff of 1,650 professors, 2,500 technical and administrative staff, 20 000 students enrolled in undergraduate and 2,500 graduate school. Its central administrative office is located on campus Goiabeiras in Victoria.
In scientific and technological research Ufes has about 600 ongoing projects, and university extension develops 700 projects and programs with coverage all capixabas municipalities, including approximately 1.5 million people. The university was ranked as Brazil’s 32nd highest.
